DDE services use "dynamic-link library" files, known as DLL files, to handle inter-program communication. I get the notifications for Firefox updates on both, so I doubt that it has anything to do with that. But I have already did the DDE DSDM manual and it works for a couple times and then back to the same problems. This service is disabled by default on Windows.
