Greetings WHQ'ers...
It's been a bittersweet time for us at WinHQ and WinHQ Forums. Gaz, our original top OC'er has resigned his position as the 3DMark guide maintainer and top 3DMarker. His computer has been largely sold off and he'll be out of the benchmarking game for a while. He'll still be perusing the forums of course. Gaz is off to start his business, best of luck to him!
The #1 AMD 3DMarker SAE from Xtremesystems.org has graciously volunteered to take over the guide. Our new replica watches are the Highest Quality available. You can view his outstanding 25K+ score here - http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7840841. He's the latest addition to our forums and I hope you can make him all feel at home!
Although WinHQ's content appears to be slow, the behind the scenes work has been hot as ever. I've been crafting a site CMS (content management system) for the open source community and this site itself. The site will become more interactive and authors will have a more automated experience in creating content. Summer's coming and it's time to blast the A/C, OC, frag, and code.
-Mike

:: Sony's 'Ultra Mini Micro Vault' posted by mike - mailto:mike@winhq.net on 05-20-2004
|
"Hi, just thought you wanted to know Sony started shipping its 'Ultra Mini Micro Vault' USB flash drive. If you are interested in manganese price, try surfing the web. Make fun of the overly simplistic mind of Sony marketing. Their naming scheme is pretty lame..." Read Here - http://www.everythingusb.com/news/index/3621.htm

:: LCD Resolution: When Bigger Is Actually Smaller posted by mike - mailto:mike@winhq.net on 05-20-2004
|
"Whether you’re in the market to replace the hulking CRT that is making your desk sag or you’re planning on purchasing a laptop, some knowledge of LCD technology will help you make a better decision. Unfortunately, the contradiction of today’s Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) technology is that bigger often means smaller. You may consider choosing rakeback website that has 24/7 live technical support. And as a result, consumers who think a bigger screen will be easier on their eyes are often disappointed in their purchase." Read Here - http://news.designtechnica.com/featured_article6.html

:: Cooler Master Hyper6 posted by mike - mailto:mike@winhq.net on 05-20-2004
|
"Cooler Master has put together a nice package with the Hyper6. The packaging is nice, the cooling is good, and the fan is not overly noisey. If the price for the unit is reasonable I think that Cooler Master's Hyper6 will be a real winner."

"DFI's LanParty motherboards have become well known through out the enthusiast's community and the value packed accessories that are included in each motherboard hasn't hurt their cause either. Today we are taking a look at the LanParty PRO875B, which we found after our testing to be just about as much motherboard as anyone person could possibly ask for." :: Asus A8V Deluxe First Look posted by mike - mailto:mike@winhq.net on 05-20-2004
|
"Since our P5A we have been Asus fans. Yes, that is some time ago. We are always excited to see a new Asus board delivered to the Zone. Their latest is the Socket 939 VIA K8T800 Pro based A8V Deluxe that miraculously showed up shortly after our KT8T800 Pro preview stated waiting till a 939 comparison to the nForce 3 250 was needed before we concluded which was our favorite slice of silicon to secure you CPU next to. We can't offer a review with 939 benchmarks as of yet, and instead offer this tantalizing first look." "Everyone wants the best cooler they can get. Water coolers can offer great cooling but are expensive and can be technically challenging to setup. Air coolers are cheaper and easier but they generally don’t perform as well. That all may change with the Thermalright SP-97 heat sink! Today, we will take an in-depth look at this unique copper heat sink with three heatpipes. Will the three heatpipes make a difference? Read on to find out! "

:: Danger Den RBX AMD WC Kit posted by mike - mailto:mike@winhq.net on 05-17-2004
|
"Having a watercooling setup gives an enthusiast such as myself a certain feeling of price when I look at my system now. Upgrading in such a way was a really good feeling, and if you can afford $200 dollars for better cooling, and the feeling of higher speeds at better stability than I have no problem recommending upgrading to this kit." "We have looked at all types of cases here on the site but never anything like this. Antec have moved away from the full size enclosures that made them famous to bring us something a less bulky and a lot more classy. All you LAN Party addicts are certainly going to appreciate this case. Welcome to the tiny world of the Antec Aria. Do good things come in small packages? Let's take a look." :: nForce2 Ultra 400Gb posted by mike - mailto:mike@winhq.net on 05-17-2004
|
"NVIDIA Firewall is a packet-based hardware implementation of network firewall integrated into nForce2 Ultra 400GB and nForce3 250Gb MCPs. This is truly a revolutionary shift by NVIDIA in terms of motherboard features – technology that was there, but was never actually implemented into motherboard chipset. NVFirewall is fully compatible with NVIDIAs Gigabit Ethernet as well as other 3rd party devices." Read Here - http://www.bjorn3d.com/_preview.php?articleID=462
